Pitch Deck for Investors: Structure and Examples

A pitch deck is a presentation that can bring you millions or close doors forever. 10–15 slides that must convince an investor to put money into your idea. Let’s break down how to do it right.

What Is a Pitch Deck

A pitch deck is a brief startup presentation for investors. The goal is not to tell everything about the business, but to generate enough interest so the investor wants to learn more.

Typical scenario: you have 5–10 minutes for your presentation. In that time you need to:

  • Explain the problem and solution
  • Show the market and potential
  • Prove the team can deliver
  • State how much money is needed and for what

Structure of the Ideal Pitch Deck

1. Title Slide

Name, logo, one sentence about the essence of the project. Founder’s contacts.

2. Problem

What pain are you solving? How acute is it? Who suffers?

3. Solution

How does your product solve the problem? Simply and clearly, without technical details.

4. Product

Screenshots, demo, visualization. Show that it actually works.

5. Market

TAM, SAM, SOM. How big is the market and what share do you plan to capture.

6. Business Model

How do you make money? Subscription, transactions, advertising?

7. Traction

What has been achieved? Users, revenue, growth, partnerships.

8. Competitors

Who else is on the market? What makes you better?

9. Team

Who is building the project? Relevant experience, achievements.

10. Financials

Forecast for 3–5 years. Unit economics.

11. Investment

How much is needed? What will the money be used for? What milestones?

12. Contacts

How to get in touch to continue the conversation.

Common Mistakes

Too Much Text

A pitch deck is visual support for your story, not a document to read. Maximum 3–5 bullet points per slide.

No Story

Investors remember stories, not numbers. Tell how you discovered the problem.

Unrealistic Projections

“In 3 years we’ll capture 10% of the market” without explaining how — that’s a red flag.

Ignoring Competitors

“We have no competitors” = you haven’t studied the market or there is no market.

Poor Design

Clumsy PowerPoint slides signal carelessness. If you can’t make a beautiful presentation — how will you build a successful product?

Why Design Matters

An investor sees hundreds of pitch decks a year. Professional design:

  • Sets you apart from competitors
  • Shows seriousness of intent
  • Makes information easier to digest
  • Builds trust

This doesn’t mean you need animations and 3D graphics. You need clean, professional, modern design.

How Much Does a Pitch Deck Cost
